In these day of energy conservation a roof can also contribute to preventing warmth. One of the most common forms of non standard construction type is the property that has a flat roof. A non standard construction is therefore anything that falls outside of this. This results in a versatile building that will stand the test of time.

So if your house or roof is constructed of anything else you re living in a non standard construction home. Non standard buildings therefore are made from materials that don t conform to the standard and are built from materials such as prefabricated concrete steel frames timber frames and wattle daub. In order to confirm to standard definition the walls of a property are constructed either with stone or bricks and the roofs with tile or slates. It may be challenging to conform to local building codes as roofing materials are manufactured for angular designs.

A roof is primarily designed to keep out rain and snow including wind driven spray from a building. Covers flat roof materials and flat roof construction of warm and cold roofs. Standard buildings are made from brick and mortar or stone with a slate or tile roof. In many cases however if the percentage of flat roof is low the risk is still considered to be standard and normal terms will be offered.

Non standard construction describes any dwelling that does not have brick or stone walls and does not have a roof that s constructed with tile or slate. If a property does not confirm to above then it s considered as non standard construction property. In the highly regulated business of home construction roofing contractors may balk at installing and maintaining roof designs that depart from the normal.
